By accessing or using Symboku ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App. Parents should review these terms with their children.
2. Description of Service
Symboku is a puzzle game application that allows users to play Sudoku-style puzzles using various symbol sets. The App is available as:
- Free Tier: Full game access with advertisements shown between games
- Premium Subscription: Ad-free experience with additional features
- Teacher/School Subscription: Classroom management features
3. Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate age information
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Notify us of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
Users under 13 require verifiable parental consent as per COPPA regulations.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Free Trial
New users may be eligible for a 7-day free trial of Premium features. The trial automatically converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial period ends.
4.2 Billing
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually
- Payment is charged through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- Price changes will be notified 30 days in advance
4.3 Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time through Settings or your app store account. You will retain access to Premium features until the end of your billing period.
4.4 Refunds
Refund requests are handled by the respective app store according to their policies. For web subscriptions, contact us within 14 days for a full refund.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer or decompile the App
- Use bots or automated systems to interact with the App
- Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements
- Share your account credentials with others
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Interfere with other users' experience
6. Intellectual Property
The Symboku name, logo, and all content within the App (including symbol sets, puzzle designs, and educational materials) are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
7. Teacher/Classroom Features
Teachers using classroom features agree to:
- Only invite students with appropriate permissions
- Comply with their institution's policies on educational technology
- Not share student data outside the platform
- Ensure students' parents/guardians have consented where required
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- Continuous, uninterrupted access to the App
- That the App will be free of errors
- Any specific educational outcomes
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the App or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
